Experience The Coffeevine — Europe’s favorite specialty coffee subscription
For the first time ever, UAE has a chance to experience some of the finest specialty coffee roasters from around the world, thanks to The Coffeevine. We not only have access to the Global Coffeevine Box, but also the European coffee roasters box. It’s not everyday we get access to some of the best international roasters and their coffees.
Rosetta Roastery: The Best from Cape Town
Last year, the Financial Times listed Rosetta Roastery as one of The Best Independent Coffeeshops in the World and won the Coffee Magazine's "South African Coffee Roastery of the Year" in 2018 and 2019. A thoughtful gift by Andy — coffee from the best roastery in Cape Town. This article sums up my thoughts on the three origins roasted by Rosetta Roastery.
THREE Coffee: Making Coffee Better
When I attended a coffee master class a few years ago headed by Drew and Karthik, I had no idea I’ll be going down this rabbit hole. Fast forward to today, I have been having some wonderful coffees from THREE Coffee.
Cascara: the drink of the Sufis
The first time I had a cascara drink was in Alchemy, a cafe in Dubai as beautiful as the beverage I was served. When paired with an orange blossom cupcake, the combination was unlike anything I have had before.
Decaf coffee doesn’t have to taste bad
I feel it’s now incumbent upon me to write about the coffee that comes with every issue of Standart magazine. With #28, I was quite surprised to find a decaffeinated Panamanian blend. There’s a Geisha amongst other varieties in this coffee, exciting, but decaf made me think otherwise.

The best India has to offer by Subko Coffee Roasters
I had a unique opportunity to get some coffee from India, and it was a no-brainer that I had to order from Subko Specialty Coffee Roasters & Bakehouse.
What I’m Brewing: From Coffee With Love Filter Blend by Lameen Abdul Malik
Growing up Lameen didn’t want to throw coffee away. He started blending the remaining beans with a different origin. This gave him an idea for a filter blend. This is his homage to African coffee.
What I’m Brewing: Ethiopia Bombe Washed by Father’s Coffee Roastery
You got to love a good coffee story. In this post, I wanted to focus on two; the producer and the roaster. Especially when the name of the latter is named after the shepherd of the household. This Ethiopian was shipped with the 26th edition of Standart.
What I’m Brewing: Colombia Quindio by Coterra Coffee Roasters
I’m currently brewing this wonderful Colombia Finca Puerto Allegra Quindio Castillo, this has undergone the carbonic maceration process. The Coterra team were very excited about this coffee, and rightfully so, because you will definitely want a second serving.
What I’m Brewing: Glyph Supply Co., all the way from Singapore
This blog post is dedicated to Glyph Supply Co. and Ya Sin for letting me try these three wonderful coffees and experience what the consumers are enjoying in Singapore. Glyph Supply Co. is a collaborative co-roasting space and a cafe serving specialty coffee, tea and bread in Singapore.
What I’m Brewing: Ethiopia Mohamed Ali by The Barn
This Mohamed Ali Ethiopia by The Barn came in with the Standart issue 24. The residents of Dubai are very fortunate to find The Barn coffee across many local cafes here.
What I’m Brewing: Colombia Asociación Palestina by Cloud Picker Coffee
This Colombian Asociación Palestina coffee came in with the 25th issue of Standart. Roasted by a Dublin based roaster called Cloud Picker Coffee Roasters. This Pink Bourbon is a natural, anaerobic processed, marmalade tasting bean of wonder. Toast your brioches because this is the jammiest jam I have brewed so far.
What I’m Brewing: Costa Rica Don Eli (Cup of Excellence 2021) by Mattina Coffee
This is a limited edition Costa Rica from the Don Eli farm. This coffee scored an 89.21 and stood 8th out of the top 30 coffees at the Cup of Excellence Costa Rica 2021 auction that took place a few months ago.
