When Design Meets Coffee: The Opening of Modora and Mokha 1450
Some evenings are meant to be remembered. The kind that blend beauty, creativity, and warmth into one unforgettable experience. The opening of Modora in Umm Suqeim was one such night: a celebration of craftsmanship, timeless artistry, and the meeting of two worlds — design and coffee.
Developed under GMG’s Home Division, Modora marks a major step in the company’s expansion into the UAE’s interiors and lifestyle sector. It is more than just a luxury furniture store in Dubai; it’s a reflection of elegance and lasting design. Every piece is crafted with care and precision, a reminder that true design never fades with time.
The brand brings a refined design philosophy that blends form and function, offering curated collections for bedrooms, dining, and living spaces, along with rugs, glassware, and accessories — all tailored to modern UAE interiors.
And within the same space, another story was brewing. The evening also marked the opening of Mokha 1450’s fourth boutique, adding one of the most beautiful coffee bars in Umm Suqeim. The aroma of freshly ground coffee filled the air as the team worked behind a full Victoria Arduino setup, brewing pour-overs on the Chemex and V60 through out the event.
The baristas prepared Mokha 1450’s signature called Smoke and Diamonds, a coffee mocktail that has a story to tell with every sip you take, capturing the essence of the evening itself.
The event brought together the specialty coffee community and Dubai’s design and interiors enthusiasts, united by a shared appreciation for quality and artistry. Among the guests were Garfield Kerr, Robert Canning, and Khalid Al Mulla, leading the dialogue between design and coffee — two crafts that are bound by passion, precision, and creativity.
Together, Modora Home and Mokha 1450 have created more than a space, they have created a feeling. A perfect harmony of luxury, craftsmanship, and authenticity that reminds us that beauty, when crafted with heart, always endures.
