Sharing my coffee experiences on The Blog
Kill two birds with one stone | Beanس Two Birds Blend
Beanس is Zarak’s specialty coffee start-up based in Pakistan and the Two Birds Blend is their first coffee release. You have got two origins here, Ethiopia and Colombia in an 80:20 blend.
What I’m Brewing: Vietnam Catimor by CoffeeHEADS
When CoffeeHEADS first started posting on Instagram earlier this year, I wasn’t sure of what to make of it. Two things stuck to me that very moment, one was the #BringCoffeeBack hashtag. Second one, the idea and the photography behind their posts was well thought out.
What I’m Brewing: Colombia Narino by First Crack Coffee Roasters
I have kinda got used to discovering new coffee places wherever my work takes me. This time it was in Ajman, and it was a roastery. First Crack Roastery is perhaps the only specialty coffee roastery in Ajman.
What I’m Brewing!
My primary way of brewing coffee at home is using the V60, Chemex, and the Aeropress. I also like to change from time to time and opt for a classic French Press or a Mokapot.
Cold Bloom Pour Over on a V60
Casually browsing through YouTube during lunch time and I come across this video by Tales Coffee. To summarize - Vincent who is the head roaster, set out to brew coffee on a V60 with a cold water bloom.
What I’m Brewing: Guatemala ''Princesa'' Geisha by Falcon Coffee Roasters
Falcon Coffee Roasters, located in Ras al Khor, is a small-batch roastery. The coffee here is roasted by Rustam, and that is evident enough to remove any use of the word “small”.
What I’m Brewing: Ethiopia Sidamo by Profile Roasters
Profile might be a micro-batch roastery based in Abu Dhabi, but the coffee here has a lot of potential. They opened doors earlier this year and I found out about this place by accident while waiting for a client meeting.
Does Aerating Coffee Improve the Taste? Feat. Kaffeine
This was my question when I first saw it on Instagram at a cafe in Sharjah - Muweilah, the heart of specialty cafes in this Emirate. Close to home and quite honestly the best place for cafe hopping, Kaffiene was the place to go to try this unusual way of using an aerator to “make coffee taste better.”
What I’m Brewing: Ethiopia Uraga Indigo Lot 0412 by Grandmother Coffee Roastery
I hate wasting coffee and I also can’t help myself when something unique catches my eye, or in this case - tastebuds. This coffee hails from Uraga which is one of the woredas i.e. another word for district, in Ethiopia.
Grandmother Coffee Roastery: Crafting Outstanding Coffee
Grandmother Coffee Roastery has been on my radar for a long time now. What was my caffeine journey here like? Read more to find out.
Space Cup: Cafe of the Future
Space Cup has a very unique spaceship concept. The interior revolves around the use of red, orange and white reminiscent to a Martian theme.
My Favorite Pour Over: Hario V60
V60 is perhaps the most popular brewing methods in specialty coffee along with other brewers such as Chemex, Kalita, Melitta etc., all fall under the pour-over or dripper classification.
RoR Coffee Roastery
Super stoked to see a much bigger operation now open, you are greeted by a very clean barista bar surrounded by coffee accessories courtesy coffeedesk.ae.
