Sharing my coffee experiences on The Blog
What I’m Brewing: El Salvador Finca Sandoca by Specialty Batch Coffee Roasters
My very first cup of specialty coffee was from Specialty Batch Coffee Roasters. The coffee definitely left a lasting impression. That’s why, many years later, I’m still on the specialty band wagon. Not that I’m complaining, it’s the best thing to ever happen to me.
What I’m Brewing: Guatemala Huehuetenango by Hermoso Coffee Roasters
Last month, I visited Hermoso Coffee Roasters based in Abu Dhabi. “Hermoso” means beautiful and that is exactly what I thought of their Guatemala Geisha.
What I’m Brewing: Ethiopia Sidamo by The Climbing Goat Roastery
The Climbing Goat Roastery started its inception at the Depachika Food Hall in Nakheel Mall almost two years ago. I have been here a few times but ever since they opened in Dubai Festival City Mall, it has become my regular mainly because of convenience.
What I’m Brewing: Colombia La Esperanza by Mzllah
The name Mzllah caught my attention when I was going through the sponsors list for the 2021 UAE Aeropress Championship last month. To my surprise, it was an artisanal roastery and cafe in Fujairah. I have been patiently waiting since to make a work trip to this emirate and stop by Mzllah for a cup of coffee.
What I’m Brewing: Vietnam Catimor by CoffeeHEADS
When CoffeeHEADS first started posting on Instagram earlier this year, I wasn’t sure of what to make of it. Two things stuck to me that very moment, one was the #BringCoffeeBack hashtag. Second one, the idea and the photography behind their posts was well thought out.
What I’m Brewing: Colombia Narino by First Crack Coffee Roasters
I have kinda got used to discovering new coffee places wherever my work takes me. This time it was in Ajman, and it was a roastery. First Crack Roastery is perhaps the only specialty coffee roastery in Ajman.
What I’m Brewing: Ethiopia Halo Beriti and Panama Graciano Cruz by Archers
I knew Archers meant business when I first brewed their Costa Rica H17. This coffee was super complex and every time I changed my recipe, I got different notes. Strong notes of green apple one time, and sweet and sour pineapple the other time. Was it my inability To brew consistently or was it just magic? Let’s go with the former because I love experimenting.
