What I’m Brewing: Ethiopia Sidamo by Profile Roasters
Profile might be a micro-batch roastery based in Abu Dhabi, but the coffee here has a lot of potential. They opened doors earlier this year and I found out about this place by accident while waiting for a client meeting.
Siphon Coffee Maker: Immersive Immersion Experience
I was introduced to my first cup of Siphon in 2019. I remember vaguely that it was an Ethiopia because of the intense floral and fruity notes and a nice juicy body. It is probably one of the coolest brew methods today after espresso of course. The Siphon brewer was invented in the 1840s. It uses heat, pressure and vacuum to brew your coffee.
Does Aerating Coffee Improve the Taste? Feat. Kaffeine
This was my question when I first saw it on Instagram at a cafe in Sharjah - Muweilah, the heart of specialty cafes in this Emirate. The Chemex Doesn’t Need any Introduction
My first pour over drink was brewed in a Chemex, this fancy looking glass carafe was why I ordered the drink in the first place and thought to myself that why would one have coffee black and without milk?
My Favorite Pour Over: Hario V60
V60 is perhaps the most popular brewing methods in specialty coffee along with other brewers such as Chemex, Kalita, Melitta etc., all fall under the pour-over or dripper classification.
This will be good: SIMPLIFY the Brewer
When I received a message on Instagram from Roy John Ito from Bathtub Coffee about the launch of the Simplify the Brewer on Kickstarter, I knew I had to get on it right away!
What I’m Brewing: El Salvador Finca Nazareth by RoR Roastery
I normally brew two different single origin beans at any given time, but during Ramadan I had to cut down on my coffee intake from three times to once a day.
