Highlights from World of Coffee Dubai 2023
World of Coffee Dubai 2022 was the talk-of-the-town when the first edition was announced in the fourth quarter of 2019. As the curtains of that event closed, it promised an even bigger event the subsequent year. This year’s event hosted more than 12,000 visitors, a twofold increase from last year.
It’s the season of coffee cupping
Now that all the coffee competitions have somewhat come to an end or on pause, cupping events have surfaced. It’s great watching our favorite baristas compete, but cupping takes the cake when it involves tasting delicious coffee.

When World of Coffee announced that it will take place in Dubai, I had the faintest idea that it would be at this scale. This is Europe’s largest coffee trade show that travels to a different city in Europe every year.
What I’m Brewing: Ethiopia Halo Beriti and Panama Graciano Cruz by Archers
I knew Archers meant business when I first brewed their Costa Rica H17. This coffee was super complex and every time I changed my recipe, I got different notes. Strong notes of green apple one time, and sweet and sour pineapple the other time. Was it my inability To brew consistently or was it just magic? Let’s go with the former because I love experimenting.
